As a Credit Risk Analyst at MHPL, you’ll sit at the heart of that process, bringing sharp analytical thinking and sound judgment to decisions that matter. What you’ll do
- Assess the creditworthiness of individuals and businesses by analysing financial statements, credit histories, and market conditions
- Build and maintain credit risk models to support lending decisions and portfolio management
- Monitor existing credit portfolios and flag early warning signs of potential default or deterioration
- Prepare detailed credit appraisal reports and present findings to senior stakeholders and credit committees’
- Collaborate with operations, sales, and compliance teams to ensure credit policies are applied consistently
- Support the development and review of credit policies, frameworks, and risk appetite guidelines
- Stay current on regulatory requirements, market trends, and emerging risks relevant to the credit landscape
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field (Master’s or CFA/CA is a plus)
- 2–4 years of experience in credit risk, financial analysis, or a related role within banking or financial services
- Strong ability to interpret financial data, balance sheets, and cash flow statements with confidence
- Proficiency in Excel and financial modelling; experience with risk management tools is an advantage
- Clear, structured communication — you can explain complex risk findings in plain language to non-technical audiences
- A detail-oriented mindset with the discipline to maintain rigour under deadline pressure
- Familiarity with Nepal’s credit market, regulatory environment, and NRB guidelines is highly desirable
Nice to have
- Experience with credit scoring systems or portfolio stress testing
- Working knowledge of SQL or Python for data analysis
- Prior exposure to SME or corporate lending environments
